Skate Deck
Custom skate deck completed with Posca paint markers and finished with an automotive clear. Based on the Pacific origins of skateboarding, I decided on a classic totem head concept with bright, contrasting colors.
"Yacht" Mural
Mural done on the practice wall at the CMU campus, completed with hardcore mtn rattle cans. Focusing on executing tight lines and a color palette that would stand off the wall presented their challenges, but the process was a great experience.
Magazine Ad
Rotoscope style illustration for Red Bull. Using photoshop and tools such as the pencil tool and eyedropper to create accurate colors, hundreds of colors and shades are present in the illustration in an attempt to pull of a photo-realistic finished product. The illustration was then implemented into a magazine ad to show a practical commercial use.
Children's Book
Recreation of published Children’s Book. Title of book chosen, “Slam! A Tale of Consequences” by Adam Stower. Three different spreads throughout the book have been recreated to the best of my ability using watercolor and dip pen. One of the spreads was chosen by my peers as my final composition, that is pictured to the right. Also included are some progress shots of the first few spreads in the book.
Instruction Manual
Step by step instruction manual of a 1930’s tractor carburetor. Sketched by hand, then turned to vector, and final page layout, user tested by my classmates. Each part was first drawn on the same perspective plane by hand, there were multiple renditions of each piece before the final one. Then these drawings were traced over in Adobe Illustrator, several rounds of digital drawing was also required before reaching a set I was happy with. The illustrations were then positioned on a tabloid size page to double fold into a pamphlet using Adobe Indesign. Three of my classmates that had never touched a carburetor were able to get my 100 year old carburetor together.
H3LLO Animation
Bring to life my favorite character from my cluster project. Introducing Cactus Jack, the most dangerous cactus in the Wild West. Jack was drawn in Adobe Illustrator, and then animated with text, background, music, sound effects and motion. The majority off the animation was done in Adobe Animate, while some audio and titling was rendered in Adobe After Effects and finally posted to my YouTube Channel…Look out!
